As we reach the midpoint of NAIDOC Week (6–13 July 2025), it’s the perfect time for every Australian—Indigenous and non-Indigenous alike—to pause, reflect and engage with our shared story.
This year’s theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” celebrates 50 years of recognising the resilience and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. For more on events near you, visit naidoc.org.au.
For non-First Nations Australians, NAIDOC Week offers us all a chance to:
Learn more about the rich histories, languages and cultures that pre-date modern Australia.
Reflect on our collective journey of reconciliation—where we’ve come from, and where we’re heading.
Recognise that building an inclusive nation requires active listening, curiosity and respect.
Participate in local events, ceremonies or conversations that uplift First Nations voices and perspectives.
Whether it’s attending a flag-raising, reading a book by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander author, or sharing what you’ve discovered with a colleague, our nation grows stronger when we learn together.
